About Us

Editor in Chief

Lara-Nour Walton is a second year student in the Sciences Po-Columbia University Dual Degree program. She is majoring in Political Humanities with a concentration in law. When she is not complaining about capitalism, she can be found inhaling Edwige’s entire menu or listening to an audiobook at 1.75 speed. At The Menton Times, Lara-Nour is editor-in-chief of the second managing board. 

Managing Editor

Magdalena (Meggie) is a second year student in the Dual BA with Columbia University, majoring in Politics and Government. When she is not desperately trying to tan at Menton’s beautiful beaches, she likes to read, annoy her friends with non-stop discussions about international relations and play field hockey. Meggie is this year’s Managing Editor at The Menton Times, giving her the pleasure of bugging writers about deadlines and coordinating the monthly publications with the lovely editor-in-chief Lara-Nour.

Copy Chief

Luca Utterwulghe is a second year student in the Columbia-ScPo Dual BA program. He enjoys learning about the protracted socio-political and energy-related conflicts of the MENA region. You’ll probably find him hiking somewhere in the boonies or searching for a café with a La Marzocco machine. At The Menton Times, Luca is copy chief of the second managing board. 

Head of Design and Layout

Alva Canenbley is in her second year at Sciences Po Paris Campus de Menton majoring in Political Humanities. Should you ever not be able to reach her, she is probably on a two-hour walk or watching children’s TV-shows in a language she doesn’t speak. At the Menton Times, Alva is the head of design and layout.

Head of Breaking News and Website Engineer

Ata Tezel is a second year student in the Columbia-SciencesPo Dual BA program. Majoring in economy and society. He is deeply interested in political economy and its impact on sociopolitics, international relations and more. He can bore you with a bajillion random facts that you will never use in your lifetime or argue about anything just for the sake of debate. However, this comes in handy for his position as Head of Breaking News. His experience in website design can be attributed to his bizarre projects in high-school that he was pushed into doing, which also makes him the website engineer of The Menton Times.

Head of Photography

Hugo Lagergren is a second year student at Sciences Po Paris majoring in politics and government. He is most interested in conflict journalism and exploring how war and crisis damages local communities across the globe. Hugo has also developed proficiency in media and editing software during his time volunteering at school for a video production group, which was involved in advocating on behalf of underprivileged children and refugees. Hugo is also passionate about photojournalism and has been keen to use his interest in photography to enhance his journalistic ambitions. So as well as being a reporter, Hugo works as the head of photographers at The Menton Times.
